|User deployable anti-vehicular mine, activated by nearby enemy vehicles.|
Tank Mines are a Utility available to the Engineer. When placed on the ground, passing enemy vehicles will trigger a large explosion, killing most vehicles in two hits. Mines can also be detonated by explosions and small arms fire. As such, it is common practice for Engineers to place two mines in close proximity, so that they function as a single, larger mine. By certing into the Mine Guard, drivers can reduce the damage done by mines to their vehicles. An Engineer can deploy a maximum of 5 mines (with the Mine Carrier) at any one time. Deploying further mines will cause previously placed mines to despawn.
Tank Mines also will detonate when MAX unit step on them.
A good tactic for using mines is to place Mines on a Bridge in close proximity to a base such as Raven's Landing.
Tank Mines can also be used to destroy enemy Sunderers quickly. The easiest way to do this is to drop pod next to the Sunderer, crawl under it, deploy two tank mines underneath it (two is enough to kill a non-mineguard Sunderer at full health), then detonate the mines by shooting them, using the knife on them, or by throwing a sticky grenade on the mines.
Tank Mines can be easily seen, especially with thermal or night vision optics. It is advised to scan the road ahead of you for tank mines. Note that freshly-deployed mines may not show up highlighted on night vision.

The first level certification allows the Engineer to carry two mines, so the second level certification allows three mines to be carried. The number of mines carried can be further increased by certing and equipping the Mine Carrier, to a maximum of 5 mines. The effectiveness of the mines is reduced by up to 75% if the vehicle that triggers them is equipped with mineguard.
Ribbons and MedalsEdit
With any explosive, it is possible to get both Ribbons and Medals. Each Ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with an explosive. Medals relate to how many overall kills you have with the explosive.
|Tank Mine Service Ribbon||10 kills.|
