The SABR-13's two-round burst fire mode was originally developed with ammunition conservation in mind. It has since become popular with marksmen because of its ability to reliably land those two rounds on target from long range.

The SABR-13 is a Terran Republic assault rifle. It's designed specifically for long range engagements. The SABR-13 has the lowest recoil, best aim accuracy and highest damage output per round of all Assault Rifles used by the Terran Republic. It is also the only TR rifle that has 30 rounds in its magazine. But it makes up for that with an extremely low and manageable recoil pattern that outperforms it's long range brethren.

The SABR-13 is often compared to the CME and the Reaper DMR. While the SABR-13's two-round burst fire mode allows it to remain consistently accurate over the CME's fully automatic firing mode, it is severely constricted in close quarters by its extremely low damage-per-second and inability to pump out rounds, consistently forcing you to spam the trigger when trapped in close quarters environment.
