Resist Shield

Resist Shield is an ability available to the Heavy Assault. It is unlocked and upgraded using Certification Points.

When activated, the resist shield applies a damage resistance overshield to the user, reducing the damage they receive from a variety of sources by 35% while it remains active. The shield remains active for up to 15 seconds, based on the rank of the ability. In exchange, the shield slows the user by 25% while active.

The damage reduction effect provided by the overshield does not stack with similar effects, such as that from the Flak Armor or Nanoweave Armor suits. If multiple sources of damage reduction are present, only the highest value applies.

While the overshield is active, the player's health and personal shield cannot passively regenerate.

To activate this ability, press the Use Ability hotkey (F by default).

Effects[]

The Resist Shield has a capacity of between 300 and 500 energy and regenerates between 20 and 33 energy per second while not in use, both values based on the rank of the ability. A 3000ms (3 second) delay is incurred before regeneration begins if the shield's energy is emptied. Activating the overshield immediately consumes 10 energy before burning 32.55 energy per second.

In simple terms, this means that the overshield can remain active for between 9 and 15 seconds, based on the rank of the ability, and regenerates passively in up to 15 seconds regardless of the rank of the ability.
