The M20 Basilisk is a Nanite Systems all-purpose secondary weapon available to all MBTs. The Basilisk is a slow firing machine gun capable of dealing moderate damage to all target types. It is the default secondary weapon available to all three factions' tanks.
The M20 Basilisk enjoys an extremely high degree of versatility. Whilst it may not specialize into doing any one job, it can fire upon all target types to a relatively good degree of success. As a default weapon, the Basilisk is a solid tool to keep equipped whilst certification points are spent elsewhere on the tank, as the versatility it offers means the MBT is never truly defenseless regardless of its foe.
No other secondary weapon in the game can compare to the Basilisk's utility, though they all can do a specific job much better than the Basilisk. As such, depending on personal experience and the battlefield, the Basilisk can be swapped out for any of the available specialized weaponry, such as the M40 Fury or M12 Kobalt for anti-infantry purposes, or the G30 Walker for anti-aircraft utility.
