The Lightning is a light one man battle tank. The Lightning can be outfitted with various types of turrets allowing it to fill anti-air, anti-personnel and anti-armor roles when neccesary.
Defenses
Edit
The lightning tank has 3,00 health regardless of faction and upgrades. Depending on the shooter's position relative to the tank, it will resist 65% damage (take 35%) from the front, 58% from the sides and top, and full 100% from the rear. These values (excluding the rear) can be boosted via the relevant upgrades in the defense slot. Considering that ranged AV weapons can deal from 1400 to 2000 damage per hit, a lightning can sustain from 2 hits in the rear to as many as 8 in the front (with reinforced armor).
(These stats should be placed in a table by a competent wiki user)
Lightning Strategy Links
Edit
- Tech Plant Basic Base Strategies
- Lightning Tanks play a key role in attacking the Tech Plant.
- Bio Lab Basic Base Strategies
- A good combination of fast moving Lightnings and a few of your empire-specific heavy tanks will provide the best defense. The quick Lightnings should support the initial battles first.
- Bio Lab Advanced Offensive Strategies
- When assaulting a Bio Lab in this vehicle, clear the way for your team to reach the outposts surrounding the main dome.
- Amp Station Basic Base Strategies
- These are very useful in taking out the turrets defending the Amp Station & using their speed to roam the area clearing defending infantry.
- Heavy Assault Class Strategy
- It takes 2 C4 charges from a Heavy Assault to blow you up. Watch out for heavies!
- Engineer Class Strategy
- One of the main Engineer roles is to repair your tank. Try not to back over them!
- Movement Strategy
- ''It's a lot faster than going on foot and provides more protection than a Flash. The lightning does attract more attention so its not good for sneaking behind enemy lines.
