The H-V45 is a variant of the pulsar that has been overclocked to allow for an incredible rate of fire. As a tradeoff, its bulkier power cores make reloading more difficult. Other differences include a higher recoil multiplier and a somewhat wider projectile spread. These stats make it into a very powerful close range weapon, most suitable for more advanced players attacking facilities.

Weapon Strategy Edit

The H-V45 is a Close Quarters variant of the Pulsar VS1, for the purposes of this section I am going to be comparing it solely to the Pulsar. It's low price (650 Certs) make it likely that it will be one of the first AR purchases a new player is going to make, so I'm comparing it to the stock weapon that a new player is most likely using.

Being a heavily Close Quarters Combat oriented weapon the H-V45 has a high rate of fire and high damage output up close, but suffers heavily at ranges over 50m. It is important to know a weapon's strengths and weaknesses before taking it afield, so hopefully this article will prepare you for combat on the battlefields of Auraxis.

Pacing Edit

Just like a Pulsar VS1, pacing is very important with this weapon, in fact, pacing is even more important. With that extremely fast rate of fire, you'll be dumping that magazine in roughly 2 seconds, having a theoretical TTK (time to kill) of about .53 seconds (providing all the shots land on the chest within 10 meters) you're going to dumping a whole lot of your magazine (Note: I say theoretical TTK because it rarely ever works out that way, so take that number with a grain of salt, but having a good amount of experience with this weapon I can say you fire a lot of rounds very quickly) Having a fairly long reload compared to the Pulsar, making sure you pace your encounters is immensely important. More often than not, you won't be dying because of the weapon itself, but being stuck in a reload cycle after you turn someones battle buddy into french toast (and getting massacred by them).

Range Edit

Due to the weapons very high rate of fire, the recoil is much less manageable compared to the Pulsar. Sticking to Close/Medium range is going to yield the best result.

One on One Edit

  • Try and stay CQC with this weapon! Don't put yourself in a situation where you're forced to fight at range, make your enemy come in close where you have an advantage
  • Peek Corners! It's always a good idea to peek or "slice" corners with any weapon[1] but the H-V45 only slows you down by 25% when ADS (aiming down sights) so peeking corners is much easier. Don't be afraid to ADS
  • On the other hand, hipfiring with this weapon isn't a bad idea either. When in a very CQC situation, making use of the weapons very respectable Cone of Fire is a good idea.
  • Knifing! In a CQC situation, knifing is very useful! Delivering a instant blow (really, instant) of 450 damage to a target will save your life (it's saved mine)

Recommended Attachments Edit

For a scope I highly recommend a 2x reflex (I prefer the red dot but use whatever reticule you prefer) but I don't recommend anything higher than a 3.4x

For barrel attachments I'm hesitant to recommended a Suppressor. Even though the weapon is geared towards CQC where a suppressor is more useful. As a medic you should be with allies, so trying to go off the radar usually isn't going to help you.

For a rail I recommended an Advanced laser sight if you want to gear towards CQC, and a forward grip if you want to have more control at range.

For ammunition, soft point is a good choice in almost any situation, the 5% decrease to bullet velocity is almost unnoticeable compared to the extra 5 meters your 7 shot kill range gets.

Suppressor The suppressor reduces the noise and muzzle flash generated by the firearm, and prevents the player from showing on the minimap when firing. Bullet velocity and effectiveness at range are reduced.

It is possible to get both Ribbons and Medals for using the H-V45. Each Ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with the H-V45. Medals relate to how many overall kills you have with the H-V45.
