The G40-F Ranger is a gunner weapon available to main battle tanks, among other vehicles. It is unlocked through purchase with Certification Points or Daybreak Cash.

The G40-F Ranger is a dedicated anti-air weapon, sacrificing almost all practical use against ground targets in exchange for powerful, sustained flak damage to enemy aircraft. After traveling approximately 25 meters, any rounds fired by the Ranger will explode in proximity to enemy aircraft, dealing indirect flak damage.

Compared to its brother, the G30 Walker, the G40-F Ranger has a notably lower damage output, however is considerably easier to use thanks to the very generous proximity fuse, and is able to deal almost the same amount of damage against empire specific fighters as the Walker.

In exchange, the Ranger is almost entirely helpless against ground targets thanks to a wide cone-of-fire and low direct damage, where the Walker's relatively tight cone-of-fire and moderate damage output allow it to enjoy surprising effectiveness against soft targets. Against aircraft, the Walker's damage output is also considerably higher against larger targets, assuming the gunner is able to land their shots on target.

 Daybreak Cash Unlike most similar equipment, gunner weapons produced by Nanite Systems used atop main battle tanks are empire-specific, thus purchases made with Daybreak Cash only allow the item to be used on other characters of the same faction.

    • Dev Note: Adjusting the pitch down limits on Ranger and Walker helps reduce the situations you’ll find a vehicle on your horizon and unable to be damaged. This is more a quality of life adjustment than anything else, though Walker receives at least a bit more viability against infantry at longer distances.
