The T7 Mini-Chaingun is a heavy gun available to the Terran Republic. It is unlocked through purchase with Certification Points or Daybreak Cash.
The T7 Mini-Chaingun is the Terran approach to a room control weapon. Dealing high damage-per-second combined with its large magazine, the mini-chaingun poses a threat to large crowds of enemies although it suffers in one-on-one engagements thanks to a spool-up time before reaching its maximum damage output and a considerably reduced aimed accuracy compared to a typical weapon greatly limits the weapon's effective range. However, the weapon's large pool of rail attachments allow the chaingun to be adapted to reduce the impact of these weaknesses.
Like other chain guns, the mini-chaingun must spool up to reach its maximum fire rate, beginning at a fire rate of 750 RPM and spooling up to 845 RPM over a period of 1000ms (1.0s) of the trigger being held. If the trigger is released, the weapon's rate-of-fire immediately resets, and the spool up time can be halved to 500ms (0.5s) using the Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle.

Rail | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle 49 OR 100 | The Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle overclocks the Mini-Chaingun's motor drive, allowing it to spool up 50% faster. | ||||||
Darklight Flashlight 49 OR 100 | The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position. The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey. | ||||||
Extended Magazine 49 OR 100 | Doubles the amount of ammunition in each magazine, and the weapon takes 20% longer to equip and unequip. | ||||||
Laser Sight 49 OR 100 | A laser sight increases the user's hipfire accuracy by 33%. |
This weapon does not have any optic, barrel, or ammo type attachments. |

History[]
- January 12, 2017 Hotfix
- Magazine from 100 to 125
- Ammo capacity from 400 to 500
- Cone of fire bloom from 0.05 to 0
- Standing hipfire CoF from 2.25 to 2.50
- Walking hipfire CoF from 2.75 to 2.50
- Crouching hipfire CoF from 1.75 to 2.50
- Crouch-walking hipfire CoF from 2.25 to 2.50
- Velocity from 600 to 500
- Dev Note: These changes tighten up the weapon’s walking cone of fire, and push it closer to being a competitive weapon, while also allowing the player to equip a laser sight in a way that significantly alters the performance of the weapon.
- January 15, 2020 Update
- Minimum refire rate from 100ms(600 RPM) to 80ms(750 RPM).
- Maximum refire rate from 75ms(800 RPM) to 71ms(845 RPM).
- Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle no longer reduces maximum refire rate (as that's now built in by default.)
- Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle no longer has a hidden projectile speed benefit.
- Dev Note: Always treated like a support weapon, but without the traits that make it successful as one (most support weapons sacrifice damage for accuracy or splash damage,) the Mini-chaingun is hard to justify bringing onto the battlefield over other LMG options. This update offers a significant boost to its 1v1 potential, and increases its overall ferocity.
- March 30, 2022 Update (The Arsenal Update)
- Headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 2x
- Dev Note: These changes drastically increase the potential of this weapon, for one on one encounters and room clearing alike.
