The Eclipse VE3A is the VS equivalent to the NC 19A Fortuna and the TR TRAC-Shot, variants of their default carbines using attachments normally available only to their S versions whilst also using two mutually exclusive attachments. Unlike the other two, the Eclipse VE3A does not have Soft Point Ammunition, having sacrificed it for the heat mechanic.
The Eclipse VE3A's stats are based off the Solstice VE3, not the Solstice SF as the installed attachments would suggest. The numbers listed on the stat card are representative of the weapon including the effects of the attachments, as reflected in the hip-fire accuracy when compared to the Solstice VE3.
To use the underbarrel shotgun, press the Gear Slot 1 hotkey (1 by default) whilst the Eclipse VE3A is equipped.
Like most directive weapons given to Vanu Sovereignty players, the Eclipse VE3A uses heat instead of ammunition.
The Eclipse VE3A will overheat after having fired 30 rounds without cooling down, making that the "magazine" size. If the weapon is allowed to cool without overheating, thre is a 0.5 second delay until it starts cooling. If the weapon overheats, that delay would increase to 1.65 seconds however, despite what official sources suggest, the Eclipse VE3A can be reloaded to bypass the cooldown, inheriting the same reload speed as the Solstice VE3, and will be forced into a long reload upon overheating, meaning this penalty is never incurred.
The "reload" speed, when allowed to cool, is 0.05 seconds per round fired, capping out at 1.45 seconds after firing 29 rounds. At 30 rounds fired, the gun will automatically reload for the Solstice VE3's standard long reload of 2.28 seconds, rather than cool down. After having fired more than 25 rounds, it is faster to reload the Eclipse VE3A, rather than allowing it to cool.
Created to better suit carbines and assault rifles for support roles, the OG-4's simple crosshair allows the user to make accurate shots at a distance. It uses 4x magnification perfect for mid-range fights.
