The Duster is equipped with dual 75mm cannons that are able to quickly unload its ten round magazine. Each shot decreases accuracy unless given time to recover; this allows the D-75 to feather accurate shots or bombard a wider area by unloading.
The Dual-75 Duster is a dedicated anti-infantry cannon, able to bombard a large area with its ten rockets loaded with generous explosive payloads. The Duster is relatively accurate on its first shot, however will quickly bloom to a large cone over the subsequent four shots, requiring the cannon to be burst-fired to maintain accuracy. On direct hits, the Duster is capable of dealing moderately high damage-per-shot to vehicles, however the weapon's innate inaccuracy makes consistently landing shots on a vehicle incredibly difficult.
The Duster is intended to be primarily anti-infantry and needs improvements in this regard. It needs to stand out in that role so we are increasing the blast radius.
Inner Blast Radius increased from 0.75 meters to 2 meters
Outer Blast radius increased from 4 meters to 6 meters
Dev Note: A cone of fire adjustment allows the Duster to make use of its rapid fire and magazine size with a bit more freedom. Previously, the most effective way to use the Duster was to use it like a Zephyr in singular or paired shots. This change helps move it more toward its intended function.
The reload speed certification lines for main cannons, noseguns, ESF wing mounts, Liberator bellyguns, and Flash weapons have been standardized at 5/7/8.5/9.5/10% reload speed.
Trivia[]
The Dual-75 Duster was originally intended to be the Terran Republic's faction-specific Liberator belly gun, however this idea was scrapped and the Duster was released as a Nanite Systems' weapon.
