The Betelgeuse 54-A is a directives variant of Orion VS54. It possess a unique heat mechanic that replaces ammunition. It's available for completing directives Light Machine Gun category. The Betelgeuse 54-A is technically an Orion VS54 that will never ever run out of ammo, making this weapon one of the most powerful and effective light machine gun in the game, especially for point holding or farming. The downsides are that you will have larger hip fire compared to the Orion VS54 since you cannot equip a laser on the weapon, and since you can no longer reload this weapon, overheating it is extremely punishing with its 8 seconds cooldown.
