Acquisition Timer was a passive system available to all vehicles. It was unlocked and upgraded using Certification Points.
Acquisition Timer reduced the acquire timer, a cooldown between spawning two of the same vehicle, an old mechanic used to limit vehicle spawning before the introduction of Nanites. Previously, after spawning a vehicle, a cooldown had to be waited out before you could spawn another one, even if you had the necessary resources. This timer also affected the MAX which had an identical ability, called MAX: Acquire Timer Reduction.
Acquisition Timer, as well as the acquire timer mechanic that it affected, was removed in the August 5, 2014 Update, when Nanites were added to function as the new limiting system. All certification points spent on all variants of Acquisition Timer were refunded.
Certifications[]
The certification costs for Acquisition Timer were the same across all platforms that could upgrade it, though the amount the certification reduced the timer by varied.
Flash[]
The base acquire timer for the Flash was 5 minutes.
Empire Specific Fighters[]
The base acquire timer for the Empire Specific Fighters - the Mosquito, Reaver and Scythe - was 15 minutes.
Lightning[]
The base acquire timer for the Lightning was 15 minutes.
Harasser[]
The base acquire timer for the Harasser was 15 minutes.
Main Battle Tanks[]
The base acquire timer for Main Battle Tanks - the Magrider, Prowler and Vanguard - was 20 minutes.
Liberator[]
The base acquire timer for the Liberator was 20 minutes.
Galaxy[]
The base acquire timer for the Galaxy was 20 minutes.
